Battlefield 1 Open Beta Will Require Xbox Live Gold, But Not PS Plus
-----------The official Battlefield account responded to a Twitter post recently, revealing that although PlayStation Plus won't be required to participate in the Battlefield 1 open beta, Xbox Live gold will be.
Responding to a fan on Twitter, the official Battlefield Twitter account confirmed that PlayStation 4 users won't need a PlayStation Plus subscription in order to get access to the Battlefield 1 open beta. When asked about the Xbox One version, the social media account made it clear that the opposite was true and a valid Xbox Live Gold subscription was required first. The account carried on later and confirmed that once the full game launches, players will need PlayStation Plus in order to participate in the multiplayer portion.
When players enter the open beta, they will have access to two game modes: Conquest and Rush, two traditional Battlefield modes. The map that was demonstrated at Gamescom 2016, Sinai Desert, will be available for both modes, including everything from horses to sand storms, and a huge armored train running through the middle of the map. By the time players drop into the World War I inspired title, they'll have to make sure that at least 6.2 GB of free hard drive space is available in order to download the beta.
Players interested about the Premium service that has been related with the franchise for many years now finally received an answer last week as DICE revealed its plans for post launch content. The Premium Pass will give players access to a lot of content including extra vehicles, weapons, customization options such as dog tags, and new elite classes.
The most important thing about this season pass however is access to all four expansion packs as they release over the next two years. Although DICE didn't shared much details, the first one is known as They Shall Not Pass, and contains four additional maps along with the introduction of the French army into the game.
Battlefield 1 is scheduled to release on October 21 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
