Bungie May Issue Bans For Players With Bad Connections
-----------Although Bungie has taken actions to improve the online experience in Destiny's PvP multiplayer segment called Crucible, the studio is still fighting the hard battle.
In a recent photo there's an indication however, that sounds as though Bungie will solve the Crucible lag very soon. One Destiny player has come forward with a message from Bungie that warns that the player's connection is not sufficient for online PvP, and if no improvements are made, he/she will be banned from any Crucible activities.
Bungie has previously discussed plans on how to correct server connection and input problems with a system called the "Damage Referee", but this is a more harsh approach. Rather than letting players run around with advantage, Bungie will keep those players out altogether.
Destiny players won't be kept out from the entire game, but only for the PvP elements. PvE elements like Raids, strikes and story missions will be available and in most cases, a poor connection from the player's side give no advantage to the PvE modes. In a PvE environment, a player with a poor connection can actually have a negative impact on the experience that can make the game unbearable for its teammates.
Stable and reliable Internet connection may be easily attainable for some, but for others it may not. Service providers and monetary means with infrastructure problems can stand in the way in delivering the quality in a connection. And to make it even worse, Bungie is now going to deny the access to different segments of the game and expansion they paid for. The message will serve them as warning that the connection is becoming an issue on their side.
For now it's a wait and see situation on whether Bungie will act, but there's no guarantee just yet. Destiny devs have been soft with punishments so far, provided that players are not outright modifying codes of the game for their personal gain.
