Destiny's Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner Will End On PS3, Xbox 360

-----------
.....

It is officially announced by game developer Bungie that Trials of Osiris and Banner Crucible matches will conclude on Destiny's PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions.

As most of Destiny's fans are probably aware, Bungie is making progress right now on the sci-fi shooter's latest expansion called Rise of Iron. Some guardians may not know, however, that the developer plans to leave players behind on last generation consoles with the upcoming expansion, as the DLC won't be supported on PS3 or Xbox 360.

At this point, looks like Bungie is getting ready to make the switch into fully focusing its development on Destiny's PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ports, as the studio revealed recently that gamers on last gen consoles will also lose access to live events, Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner matches sometime this August. Additionally, Destiny players on PS3 and Xbox One won't have the option to obtain particular exotic weapons and armor from Xur, but should expect to be able to buy exotic and legacy engrams, as well as consumable items.

As the previously mentioned content has become unusable for Destiny players on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, Bungie developers also have plans to shut down the majority of methods for purchasing Silver, the action MMOs in-game currency and the studio's microtransaction revenue stream for legacy consoles. This feature should also be inaccessible by fans on older systems in August as well.

Even though this news is definitely unpleasant for Destiny's fans on legacy consoles, it's worth mentioning that Bungie will make sure that access is maintained to Prison of Elders, raids, boss challenges across all platforms. There's no question, though, that the studio prefers more to have fans making the leap to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One by bringing their Guardians over to the next gen consoles.

Destiny is available now for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, while the upcoming expansion, Rise of Iron, is scheduled to be released on September 20, 2016, exclusively on PS4 and Xbox One.
