Dishonored Comic and Novels to Set Up Sequel

Bethesda has announced a partnership with the Titan Publishing Group for a comic and novel series which are going to set up the events that will lead to Dishonored 2.

Bethesda are putting another E3 event this year, fans are speculating that Dishonored 2 will be featured and they will be able to see a few gameplay samples. After spoiling it on last year's show, the game was kept under the radar, which lead many to wonder where the main protagonists, Corvo Attano and Emily Kaldwin got to and where are they in the sequel. Bethesda has a plan to fill the gaps thanks to a recent partnership with the comics and novel publisher Titan Entertainment Group.

In a recent post on Bethesda.net, the company presented a series of novels and comics that are set in the world of Dishonored, which will hopefully arrive in August. The story is set 12 years after the events of the first game. Titan Comics and Books is planning on publishing two mini series that aim to bridge the gap between the first game and this sequel.

The comic follows Corvo as he goes through the Empire of the Isles for an apprentice. Being written by Gordon Rennie, the comic features illustrations and colour from Andrea Olimpieri and Marcelo Maiolo (Batman Beyond and Old Man Logan). The first issue of the comic will release August 4 and will run until October 19 2016. It will feature a graphic novel release which will capture everything in one place on November 29 2016.

Another three part novel called Dishonored - The Corroded Man, will arrive in September and will focus on the story of how both Corvo and Emily ended up where they were before the events in Dishonored 2. Two additional books will release sometime in 2017.

Dishonored 2 isn't the only game turning to other media in order to fill in some lore and backstory. Overwatch, the recently launched shooter, has released a bunch of digital comics and short animations tied to specific characters. This has given Blizzard the ability to explain who these characters are and why they fight in the way they do.
