Fallout: New Vegas Is Now Backwards Compatible on Xbox One

-----------
.....

Microsoft has announced that Fallout: New Vegas can now be downloaded on Xbox One with the Xbox Backwards Compatibility program, allowing gamers in on the action.

Microsoft has been hard at work on keeping its promise to release backwards compatible titles for the Xbox One, and the newest title that's been added to the growing library is none other than Fallout: New Vegas. Obsidian's entry to the popular Fallout franchise received positive reviews back when it released in 2010 and was considered a big hit by fans around the world.

Ever since backwards compatibility became a possibility on Xbox One, gamers have been begging Microsoft to bring the courier's story into the next generation of consoles, and it's now clear that Microsoft was listening. The company haven't posted any hints that Fallout: New Vegas would release before today, and simply made the surprise announcement carefully via Twitter.

Fallout 3, the game's Bethesda-produced predecessor, was the first of the 104 titles announced for backwards compatibility. It's obvious that New Vegas is one of the most popular single-disc titles that still had to make it into Microsoft's Backwards Compatible Library, so while this announcement isn't surprising, this move will make lots of console-based Fallout fans happy, especially that it comes so quickly after the launch of modification support for Fallout 4 on the Xbox One.

Even though fans have been eagerly waiting for New Vegas to become a backwards compatible title, Obsidian has made it quite clear that making a sequel to New Vegas is what the studio is interested in. Recently one of the developers said it was a very fun property to work with, repeating the sentiment that most of the studio staff would be very excited about the possibility of bringing New Vegas back in an even bigger way.

Fallout: New Vegas is now available on Xbox 360, PS3, PC, and Xbox One via backwards compatibility.
