Gwent Closed Beta Dates Revealed

CD Projekt Red has announced that the beta for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game will start on October 25, which leaves gamers with short amount of time before it begins.

As everyone is probably aware, most of October has come and gone. CD Projekt Red has finally shared some info on the secretive beta's date and has confirmed that the long-awaited Gwent: The Witcher Card Game beta will happen this Tuesday, October 25 for Xbox One and PC at 12PM central time. Those who are interested to know more can head over to the official Gwent website to sign up for the beta.

Collectible cards being introduced in video games is nothing new, but in the past couple of years the presence of digital collectible card games has definitely grown. Games like Hearthstone and FIFA are an example that modern card collecting could make a profit, and gamers can now see cards in everything from Gears of War 4 to heavily licensed mobile applications like Animation Throwdown or Plants vs Zombies: Heroes.

Ever since the title was announced, there was a great interest in such a product. One talented fan even went so far as to create a real life rendition of Gwent as a present for their significant other, which definitely sets the bar high for other gift-giving fans of The Witcher 3 (in case someone goes into debt by buying someone a statue of Geralt).

Regardless of the studio's comparatively new focus on collectible cards, it doesn't mean that with the recent beta the studio hasn't been paying attention to the main Witcher series. A rather large patch for the Witcher 3 was released two months ago, although it did confirm that a 4K resolution patch is not in the works for the PS4 Pro version of the game.

Gwent: The Witcher Card Game will be released for Xbox One and PC, althoug the full release date hasn't been revealed yet.
