Homefront Franchise now Property of Deep Silver
-----------Homefront: The Revolution will now be developed by Deep Silver.
Deep Silver announces it has bought off the rights for the Homefront franchise from Crytek.
The publisher best known for Dead Island and Saints Row confirms it will be opening a new studio in Nottingham, England, to continue developing the upcoming Homefront: The Revolution. Deep Silver will also pick up "all coherent assets from Crytek."
Deep Silver's new studio is named Dambuster Studios, and is made from the remnants of Crytek UK, which was where Homefront: The Revolution was being developed and is also based in Nottingham.
Crytek has issued a statement on its status, confirming Crytek UK staff will be moved to Deep Silver's new studio. It also announced layoffs at Crytek USA.
Previously Crytek denied the reports of financial problems at the company. Homefront: The Revolution is scheduled to release next year on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
