More Details About The Last Guardian Revealed Ahead Of E3

-----------
.....

The Last Guardian game director Fumito Ueda revealed some new details about the game on Edge magazine, including the abilities of the large creature named Trico.

Since its announcement in 2009, The Last Guardian has been more of a mysterious project in development at Sony. Seven years after the original announcement, more details have finally been made available ahead of Sony's E3 2016 press conference next month.

The details revealed by game director Fumito Ueda in issue 294 of Edge magazine are mostly focused on Trico, the large winged creature which appears to be the primary interest of the game. In The Last Guardian, players will have to rely on Trico, mainly by utilizing the creature's powers for puzzle solving purposes.

One way this can be accomplished is by manipulating Trico with the main character's mirror shield. The mirror shield ability will be used to shine beams of light on objects on which Trico will respond by blasting that spot with red lightning coming from its tail. Trico's lightning blast can then be used to destroy environmental objects, which is necessary for solving the game's environment puzzles.

With that much power at Trico's disposal, the creature is not exactly obedient at first. Hints of The Last Guardian have been shared in E3's 2015 trailer where it can be seen that Trico is not pleased with the main character. However, the relationship between the main character and Trico will grow as the game progresses, where the creature will be more open to listening commands later in the story.

The Last Guardian is being kept secretive in an attempt by Sony to preserve the story and not ruin it, but it's nice to learn some details about Trico's abilities a bit more. Fans of The Last Guardian should expect to learn more on the game at Sony's E3 2016 during the press conference next month. If this title manages to finish its development in time for the planned 2016 release, it will be hard to quarrel with Sony's claims of an incredible PS4 lineup this year.
