Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void Has Begun
-----------Blizzard have announced that the beta for StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void is now live.
Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void beta has launched and is now available for testing to a select few players, based on Blizzard's magical metrics—or "system specs, recent StarCraft II activity, and an element of luck," as they put it.
"At the start of the beta test, we will be directly flagging Battle.net accounts for access and will not be sending beta keys until later on in the beta cycle," writes Blizzard. You can check to see if your account has been flagged for beta by checking your Battle.net Game Accounts list. If flagged, you can download the beta by selecting "Beta: Legacy of the Void" from the Region / Account dropdown menu found in Starcraft 2's Battle.net Launcher tab.
Beta testers can also allowed to to hold online tournament events with the beta, provided prize funds are lower than $10,000.
The beta includes new Protoss units such as the Adept, a psionic soldier than can create copies of itself, and the Disruptor, a drone-like robot with a powerful AoE attack that grants it invulnerability. Terran will be able to field the Cyclone missile launcher, whilst Zerg see the return of the Lurker, and a new unit called the Ravager, which morphs from a Roach. Detailed information on each can be found at StarCraft II’s blog.
