Ubisoft Disclaimer: "NX Will Bring Nintendo Back In its Pace"

On a shareholder meeting, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot says that the Nintendo NX gets Nintendo back in the race following the poor sales of the Wii U.

Ever since its release in 2012, the Nintendo Wii U failed to recapture the huge success of its predecessor, the Nintendo Wii. The console has been brought down by some serious competition from the PS4 and Xbox One and according to one Nintendo executive, the Wii U's high price point has also been to blame.

This is why it took such a long time to sell more than 12 million units and it's also why rumors that Nintendo will stop making Wii U consoles this year seem so true. According to one industry though, Nintendo's next console, the NX, will make things better for this company.

French journalist Chloe Woltier speculated that Ubisoft's CEO Yves Guillemot said that he believes that Nintendo will be back in race with the NX. Yves Guillemot's comment is just the latest show of support from the Ubisoft executive as earlier this month he called the Nintendo NX a magnificent machine. Before that, Guillemot said that he was impressed by the Nintendo NX among other expressions of enthusiasm.

These features could only be out there and wild enough for Nintendo to establish its new device as a different alternative to PS4 and Xbox One, both of which have no signs of slowing down. When the original Wii u came out, it became a 100 million seller because of how much its motion control gameplay stood out in comparison to the more traditional PS3 and Xbox 360, which stands to be a reason this could be Nintendo's winning strategy.

Other people have expressed skepticism at Ubisoft's executive comments. Doubters point out that as Just Dance could be a Nintendo NX launch title. Ubisoft has it as a best interest for the console to get off to a flying start. Furthermore Guillemot confirmed that other NX games are in the works from the publisher, so it may be wise to wait until a less biased figure comments on the console.
