Xbox One Users Will Experience VR Soon
-----------Microsoft has set a goal to get into Virtual Reality with their console, the Xbox One. More and more evidence that this is correct continues to appear now that E3 2016 is just around the corner.
It looks like we will get a lot of hardware announcements at this year's E3, along with game-play footage as usual and new projects being revealed at the event. News about console updates are also expected, with a speculation or two about a "PlayStation 4K". It's a bit different with Microsoft though, as fans expect a announcement about an enhanced Xbox One, they will present them with what looks like another trick up their sleeve.
Four companies are under the Xbox One name, two of which should be very familiar to gamers. Farming Simulator's publisher, Maximum Games and Rebellion, the ones responsible for the Sniper Elite titles that currently have Sniper Elite 4 coming out this year. The other two are Readily Information and 3DRudded.
A major unnamed European developer has confirmed their presence at E3 2016. Their role will be to debut an Xbox VR game, with a release date set somewhere in 2017. A rumor goes around that Rebellion is the unnamed developer. It makes sense, since it's seated in the UK.
It is still unknown which VR software will be used with the Xbox One. All that's known is that Microsoft has already reached some sort of agreement with Oculus to make the Xbox One games and controller compatible with the Rift headset. Further discussions and agreements between the two companies are being held as expected. A further movement on the HoloLens with an outlying chance of a headset is possible.
Adding new hardware to the Xbox One console may aditionaly put it under strain, which is why the possibility of making a new, upgraded Xbox One with more power is currently on the table. It remains to be seen, whether this or the upcoming addition of VR projects to Xbox come to fulfillment.
